march - herbal salt scrub

I was reading an article on salt scrubs, and it said, “there are two kinds of people in the world… the people that use salt scrubs regularly and the people that don’t.” This could apply to almost anything, including, “people that read my blog and people that don’t!” You apparently are in the smart group, haha;-)

So what are the benefits of a good salt scrub? And why should you indulge in skin exfoliation once a week? These are the topics of this blog, and the herbal product we will be creating this March in Around the Sun with Herbalism.

Although Epsom salts are the standard for bath soaks and provide a good source of magnesium, I prefer Dead Sea salts because they contain 80 plus minerals from the sea, including magnesium, potassium, calcium chloride, sodium, zinc, iodine, iron, manganese, and bromide. I start with ethically sourced Dead Sea salts, and add organic, unrefined shea butter & sesame oil to bring a rich creaminess to our blend.

My classes will then take a deep dive into a large collection of organic essential oils to elevate your experience and create your own aromatherapy to enjoy. Whether you want a subtle uplifting experience with lemon and grapefruit, or a more relaxing scrub with lavender & chamomile. The combinations are endless, especially when combined with targeted herbal tinctures and dried herbs to ramp up the medicinal qualities of your scrub.

5 BENEFITS OF SALT CRUB

- Exfoliation

- Skin glow

- Increased blood flow

- Relaxation

- Improve signs of aging & cellulite

These benefits are interrelated, and they all start with quality organic ingredients that have been ethically sourced. After this, it is time to have some fun with exfoliation, and here is where the benefits lead one from the other… by using salt to exfoliate the skin, you are left with fewer signs of aging, increased flow of blood to skin, and skin glow. If you take the scrub and truly embrace each body part with a gentle circular massage, you can target cellulite and overly dry skin areas… this massage will relax and expand your breathing, and we all know the benefits of a calm steady heart & breath rate.
